Homeopathics

As a Chiropractic Physician, I have certainly had my share of patients suffering from the effects of Breast Cancer and other forms of cancer. At the end of 2000 I lost my wife, Donna, to breast cancer after four years of neglect, uncaring treatment, inept surgeons and a medical monopoly that charged us $3500 A WEEK for chemo. On at least one occasion my wife was given the wrong chemo. That wiped out most of her immune system. The family spent Y2K celebrations with her in her isolation room at the hospital. She was dead less than a year later.

At that point I declared war on breast cancer and as a result helped save or change numerous lives. I found that most of those studies re breast cancer were fairly useless. Most of them were designed, IMHO, to do two things, learn how to “control cancer” and not necessarily cure it, and secondly, make the pharmaceutical companies wealthier.

Being a homeopathic practitioner as well as a Chiropractor, it came to me that if we were to take tumor tissue from the patient, potentize it homeopathicly to the point that not one molecule of original tumor tissue remained in that mixture, and give it back to the patient, the body’s own immune system might then recognize its cancer and go after it. As it turns out, typically a person’s immune system doesn’t usually go after its own body’s cancer because the body made the cancer in the first place. However, a homeopathic version of that same cancer from that patient’s body will often trigger an immune response. I also found that this type of therapy was employed over a hundred years ago, but fell out of favor within the homeopathic profession due to politics. Other like minded homeopathic providers around the world have since taken up this method of treatment. It’s now called “auto nosode” or “Isotherapy”. (According to the news a while back, Penn State has started looking into a non homeopathic form of this therapy as well). Unfortunately, the FDA (god Bless them) has effectively barred every commercial homeopathic pharmacy/lab from making these homeopathic remedies, and apparently forced Canadian labs to follow suite. We have had to turn to homeopathic labs abroad and I don’t know how long that will last. The FDA has long tentacles just like the cancer it seems to protect. Currently it is very difficult to get human tissue out of the country, to these overseas homeopathic labs. Life becomes interesting when you piss off the right people.

One very important note: This technique is NOT an attempt to cure or treat cancer. It is simply a method of bringing balance to a person’s body, so that his/her own body may make corrections on its own, thus utilizing its own innate recuperative powers, possibly correcting its own disease process. That’s what good Chiropractors do. We don’t try to cure anything, we let the body do that.

How chiropractic changed my life.

Welcome to my Blog. This is the first of many blog entries I’ll be writing in regards to Chiropractic as practiced here in this office. To begin, let’s go all the way back to the basics of Chiropractic and the philosophy which guides it.

We are all self correcting mechanisms. By that, I mean our bodies can fix themselves. We seem to come into this world with a set of hardwired instructions for the purpose of survival. It’s all automatic. We’re not even aware that anything is happening. But, of course, it is. The old Chiropractors called it “Innate” (built in) Intelligence.

We could use computers as an analogy. The operating systems have a myriad of processes going on to regulate, correct and protect the computer. An indication something is really wrong could possibly manifest as an error message. Or it could just slow down, or, heaven forbid………crash.

Our bodies are similar. Pain is our error message. We even slow down sometimes too (‘ever have a hangover?). Below our levels of awareness many processes are going on. And like the computer, our bodies are being regulated, corrected and healed.

All that Chiropractic does is remove those obstacles which prohibit “Innate intelligence” from doing its job. It’s as simple as that. Those obstacles can be physical, like the so called “pinched nerves” so many Chiropractors mention. However, these obstacles can also be chemical or even emotional. Very often it’s a combination of the above. By the way, these obstacles are also known as “Subluxations” in Chiropractic circles. Put simply, the word “subluxation” means that something is just out of wack and blocking instructions from above and out to the rest of the body. Chiropractors do not use drugs or surgery to correct this. In fact, most Chiropractors feel that the extent you take artificial substances or do unnatural procedures to your body, is the degree you are putting your body in an unnatural state!

At the time I graduated UCF I knew nothing about Chiropractic. It was 1971. The Vietnam War was raging and I was preparing to do my duty. I was, however, suffering with severe dizziness, weakness, sweats and headaches. An exam by my family doctor revealed blood sugar at 60 (normal is 80 to 100). I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia and given a diet for diabetics and the drug Librium. It got worse! ‘Couldn’t handle the Librium. My head was spinning. I couldn’t hold a job. The Selective Service classified me 4F (physically unfit to serve). I was in real trouble. A friend suggested I see a Chiropractor. I thought she was crazy, but I was out of options. This particular Chiropractor took X-rays, did an exam, then treated me. Within two weeks I was totally asymptomatic. Total time with this Chiropractor was about 4 weeks. It changed my life forever, and saved me from what would have likely become diabetes.

The next entry will cover what pushed me into becoming a Chiropractor and what we do in this office to treat “Subluxations”. I welcome questions and comments and will publish select posts.

Say "No" To Pain

Chiropractic After Thoughts

I was reading a few articles by one of my heros, Joesph Mercola, M.D. (www.mercola.com), and came across some interesting facts:

1.The apparent definition of "health" by conventional medicine is simply the absence of symptoms of disease. Therefore, expensive and dangerous drugs are developed, used and misused to take away symptoms, get us hooked so we keep taking these substances indefiniately, thus affecting our real well being and resulting in even more treatment and, yes, more drugs. 'All this and seldom taking care of the cause!

2.The bigget cause of people succumbing to cancer is developed DESENSITIVITY to chemo being used. Resveratrol and Curcumin (from Tumeric) haven been known to stop that. 'Too bad there's so little profit in the use of these safe and lifesaving natural substances. It is unlikely most doctors know about this important fact. Who's going to tell them? Not big pharma!

3.For macular degeneration the use of Astaxanthin, a very potent antioxidant, may be more effective, much less expensive and way safer than the drugs being used today.

4.A person with osteoporosis can increase bone density up to about 23% by taking a natural calcium supplement along with higher doses of vitamin D3 and natural K2- 7.

Conclusion:

The degree of use of artifical means to "get healthy" determines the extent that we put our bodies in an un-natural state. Think about it?!?

Look, life has been on this planet for over 4 billion years. With all those billions of years of evolution, one would think everything we need to survive and stay healthy has already been provided by this planet. Only depend on artifical means of healing when all else fails or the situation is so acute the heroic lifesaving measures need to be taken. Find a doctor who at least respects nature and practioners who use nature to get you well. Then after the emergency is over you can truly heal yourself.

Many people agree that we humans should live on average about 120 years, healthy and able bodied. there are a number of reasons this is not yet happening, much having to do with our ignorance and the greed of a few individuals in power. Learn as much as you can about natural health, live well and enjoy life.
